The Board was also pleased to recognize the Hilbish Ford Teacher of the Month, Jessica Hatley, teacher, Kannapolis Middle School.
Mrs. Hatley is truly a remarkable teacher who has a profound impact on students and families. The parent who nominated Mrs. Hatley shared this message:
Mrs. Hatley is a rare and exceptional teacher, the kind every family hopes for. Griffin was fortunate to have her in both 6th and 7th grade, and it quickly became clear that her teaching style not only ensures understanding but also sparks a love for learning. Her care, dedication, and unwavering commitment to her students' success set her apart.
After Griffin’s injury over the summer, Mrs. Hatley immediately stepped up to become his homebound instructor. Knowing Griffin well, she brought stability during a time when his world had changed drastically. Her support has been invaluable, not only in helping him meet his learning goals but also in easing his transition back to the classroom.
She has been more than a teacher to Griffin—she has been his cheerleader, advocate, and friend. Her ability to connect with her students and bring out their best is a gift that has touched countless lives. Kannapolis City Schools is lucky to have her, and we are so grateful for the lasting impact she has had on our family.
Jessica, we are fortunate to have you as a part of KCS and are delighted, on behalf of Hilbish Ford, to present her with the Hilbish Ford Teacher of the Month Award for January. Congratulations!
