What happens if I make a late payment?

  • A $10 late fee is assessed on payments received after the due date.
  • If payment is not received within three school days after the due date, your child may not attend Before School Care until the outstanding balance and late fees have been paid.

Is tuition prorated if my child attends only a few days?

No. Monthly tuition reserves your child's place in the program and staffing is based on enrollment. Because staffing remains consistent, tuition cannot be prorated regardless of attendance.

Can my child attend only certain days each week?

Yes. Families may use the program as often or as little as needed; however, the monthly tuition remains the same because it reserves your child's space in the program.

What happens when my child arrives?

Parents or authorized adults must follow their school's morning sign-in procedures. Students remain under the supervision of Before School Care staff until they are released to school personnel at the beginning of the instructional day.

What should my child bring?

Students should:

  • Arrive ready for school.
  • Bring any school supplies needed for the day.
  • Follow school expectations while participating.

What if school is delayed or canceled?

Before School Care follows the Kannapolis City Schools operating schedule. If school is canceled, Before School Care will also be canceled. Any changes due to delays or emergency closures will be communicated to families.

How will families receive updates?

Important information may be communicated through:

  • ParentSquare
  • Email
  • Phone
  • Text message

Parents can indicate their preferred communication method during registration.

What behavior is expected?

Students are expected to follow the Kannapolis City Schools Student Code of Conduct while participating in Before School Care. Repeated behavior concerns, unsafe conduct, or failure to follow staff directions may result in temporary suspension or removal from the program.

Can someone else pick up my child during an emergency?

Yes. Parents should list authorized adults during registration who may pick up their child if an emergency or unexpected program closure occurs. Please keep this information current throughout the school year.

What if my contact information changes?

Parents are responsible for notifying the school if:

  • Phone numbers change
  • Email addresses change
  • Home address changes
  • Emergency contacts change

Keeping your information current helps ensure we can reach you quickly if needed.
