Mr. Will Gibson - Principal

Will Gibson has been a part of Kannapolis City Schools since 2013, now serving as the proud Principal of Shady Brook Elementary School.  Prior to coming to Shady Brook, Will was an Assistant Principal at Highland Renaissance Academy in Charlotte. He also served as an Assistant Principal at Newell Elementary School and as a kindergarten teacher at John Motley Morehead Elementary in Charlotte. He began his teaching career way back in 1998 as a kindergarten teacher in Roanoke, Virginia.

Will graduated from Roanoke College in the spring of 1998, and earned a Masters Degree in School Administration from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2005.  He is also married to an educator; his wife Heather teaches Engineering at Mountain Island Middle School in Charlotte.  They are the proud parents of a 6th grader, Jenna, and a chocolate lab named Virginia.

Ms. Ingrid Doehle - Assistant Principal

Ms. Doehle is the Assistant Principal at Shady Brook. She started her teaching career with KCS in 2004. She loves to travel and spend time with friends and family. In her free time she enjoys reading and being outside.

Ms. Doehle earned her Bachelor's degree of Science in Education from Ohio University in 2004. Ms. Doehle started her career teaching 1st and 3rd grade at Forest Park Elementary. She then achieved her Master's Degree in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2012. This is where she began teaching ESL, serving children in kindergarten through 4th grade. It was not long after that Ms. Doehle pursued yet another Master's Degree add-on license from Gardner Webb University, in Curriculum and Administration, and transitioned to the Instructional Coach for three years, before moving to Shady Brook Elementary school as the Assistant Principal in 2017.

One of Ms. Doehle's passions is to guide students by educating about different cultures and accepting others, while providing rigorous curriculum and content. She is dedicated to enthusiastic and dynamic teaching as a means for creating and nurturing a lifelong love of learning in children.
