Mrs. Lindsay Bennett
Lindsay Bennett grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana and received her BS Psychology degree at Indiana University and her MS and SSP School Psychology degrees at Winthrop University. She worked in Fort Mill and Charlotte Mecklenburg School Districts prior to her employment with Kannapolis City Schools. She has been a practicing school psychologist since 2003 and employed with Kannapolis City Schools since 2013. Her special interests include preschool assessment and behavioral intervention. Lindsay is the lead school psychologist and is the direct supervisor to school psychologist interns. She currently serves students at McKnight Head Start and AL Brown High School.

Mrs. Taryn Burleson
Taryn is originally from New York, where she attended both undergraduate and graduate school. She graduated from the State University of New York at New Paltz in 2010 with a B.A. in Psychology and then from the College of Saint Rose in 2014 with an M.S. Ed. and a Certificate of Advanced Study in School Psychology. She is also a Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP). Taryn has been practicing as a school psychologist since 2014 and has been working with KCS since 2017. She is the lead psychologist evaluator on the Autism Problem Solving Team in KCS. Ms. Winne’s special interests include neuropsychology, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS). Taryn currently serves students at Shady Brook Elementary and Jackson Park Elementary.

Mrs. Sharrice Aleshire
Sharrice Aleshire is originally from Illinois and received her M.S. Ed. degree in School Psychology from Western Illinois University in 2018. She is also a Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP). She has also been trained and certified to complete Transdisciplinary Play-Based Assessments. She completed her internship at Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School in 2018. She worked in Lincoln & Rowan-Salisbury County Schools before moving to KCS in November 2019. Her special interests in the field are Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI), Trauma-Informed Care, counseling, Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS), and Social-Emotional Learning. Sharrice currently serves students at Kannapolis Middle School.

Mr. Marcio Leal
Marcio Leal, "Mr. Mars," was raised in the city of Philadelphia. For education and training, he attended the University of Pittsburgh for his Bachelor in Psychology and Philosophy and the University of Denver for his Education Specialist degree. He has worked with children in a number of settings including; in-home, clinic-based, and residential. His special interests include supporting Traumatic Brain Injuries and those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD/AU). Marcio currently serves students at GW Carver Elementary and North Kannapolis Elementary.

Ms. Courtney Clayton
Courtney was raised in Jacksonville Beach, Florida. She attended the University of Florida for her Bachelors of Science degree and Nova Southeastern University for her Masters and Specialist in School Psychology degrees. She is also a Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP). While completing her graduate course work, she gained experience at Baudhuin Preschool, Broward County Public Schools, NSU School-Related Psychological Assessments and Clinical Interventions (SPACI) clinic, and NSU University School. Her special interests include preschool assessment, early intervention, and applied behavioral analysis. Courtney currently serves students at Forest Park Elementary.

Ms. Claire McAlister
Claire McAlister was raised in Rock Hill, South Carolina. In 2020, she received her B.S. in Psychology, and in 2023, she will receive her M.A., SSP in School Psychology, both from Appalachian State University. While completing her graduate coursework, she gained experience in Catawba County and Caldwell County schools. Her special interests in the field include Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) practices. Claire currently serves students at Fred L. Wilson Elementary and A.L. Brown High School.
