Student Meal Service and Delivery Options
Kannapolis City Schools has established a "Grab & Go" student meal service during this mandated closure of schools. Beginning Monday, March 16th any KCS student can obtain free breakfast and lunch at one of our five lunch distribution sites or via our mobile meal delivery services to several sites throughout the district.

Schools Closed Beginning March 16th
Kannapolis City Schools will be closed for students beginning Monday, March 16th through at least Monday, March 30. This decision complies with Governor Roy Cooper's directive to close all NC schools as a response to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic.

Cabarrus Health Alliance (CHA), Cabarrus County’s public health authority, has identified the first presumptive case of COVID-19 in a Cabarrus County resident.

KCS Continues to Monitor The Situation
Our district continues to have daily discussions with Cabarrus Health Alliance and Rowan County Health Department officials, and we are continuing to adhere to updates and guidance provided by the State Health and Human Services Department and the Center for Disease Control (CDC).

KCS Announces Travel Restrictions
Effective Thursday, March 12, 2020, all field trips for students and professional development trips for staff outside of Cabarrus and/or Rowan Counties are cancelled.
