This course will review operations with real numbers. The language of algebra will be stressed. Linear equations with one variable will be solved and graphed. Properties of functions will be explained. Select topics from 7th and 8th grade math will be reviewed and reinforced. The use of the TI83 calculator will be expected.

Math 1 provides students the opportunity to study concepts of algebra, geometry, functions, number and operations, statistics and modeling throughout the course. These concepts include expressions in the real number system, creating and reasoning with equations and inequalities, interpreting and building simple functions, and interpreting categorical and quantitative data. The use of the TI83 calculator will be expanded and expected. The NC EOC test is required and will be administered at the conclusion of this course.

Math 2 continues a progression of the standards established in Math I. In addition to these standards, Math II includes: polynomials, congruence and similarity of figures, trigonometry with triangles, modeling with geometry, probability, making inferences and justifying conclusions. The TI83 calculator will be used throughout the year. A North Carolina Final Exam is required and will be administered at the conclusion of this course.

The TI83 calculator will be used throughout the year. Additional course work for Honors course deriving area formulas using Trigonometry, Applications of Law of Sines and Law of Cosines, and additional topics in Probability and Statistics. A North Carolina Final Exam is required and will be administered at the conclusion of this course

Math 3 progresses from the standards learned in Math I and Math II. In addition to these standards, Math III extends to include algebraic concepts such as: polynomial functions, inverse fuctions, Geometric concepts including circles, and parallelograms. The TI83 calculator will be used throughout the course. A North Carolina Final Exam is required and will be administered at the conclusion of this course.

Math 3 progresses from the standards learned in Math I and Math II. In addition to these standards, Math III extends to include algebraic concepts such as: the complex number system, inverse functions, trigonometric functions and the unit circle. Math III also includes the geometric concepts of conics and circles. The TI83 calculator will be used throughout the course. Additional course work for the Honors Course Application and use of the Fundamental Theorem of Algebra, Expanded work with Rational Expressions, and Additional work with using probabilities to make and evaluate decisions. A North Carolina Final Exam is required and will be administered at the conclusion of this course.

AP Statistics is an introductory collegelevel statistics course that introduces students to the major concepts and tools for collecting, analyzing, and drawing conclusions from data. Students cultivate their understanding of statistics using technology, investigations, problem solving, and writing as they explore concepts like variation and distribution; patterns and uncertainty; and databased predictions, decisions, and conclusions.
