Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS) is a framework for establishing and organizing evidence based behavioral interventions into an integrated continuum enhancing academic and social behavior outcomes for all students.
The goal of the PBIS framework is for students to have successful behaviors during school. To support the success of the PBIS model, Kannapolis Middle School establishes an expectation for staff members to teach and model behavior expectations for students. Consistency with this process, along with parental support and reinforcement of expectations, will in return lead to a majority of our students earning the opportunity to participate in quarterly merit celebrations.
Kannapolis Middle School follows school-wide PBIS expectations which should be discussed and modeled consistently during the first ten days of school and frequently referred to throughout the school year.
Regular incentives are offered school-wide. A merit event is held each quarter.
