November Letter from the Superintendent – English
November 2023
KCS Community,
Greetings everyone, we hope you are all doing well! We are sharing updates and great happenings for KCS as we move through November and closer to the midpoint of the school year. As always, please reach out to us with any questions or concerns.
First, we extend our gratitude to all of our veterans in the KCS community. Thank you very much for your service. Also, we appreciate our school psychologists who are being recognized as part of National School Psychology week during November.
Secondly, at our November Board of Education meeting, we were excited to recognize numerous KCS students and staff. Staff and students from Shady Brook Elementary School were recognized and Kannapolis Middle School Social Studies teacher Chad Wilson received the Hilbish Ford Teacher-of-the-Month. Congratulations!
Additionally, last month, our schools launched SchoolCash Online, an online payment system that allows parents to easily pay student fees and for school items. Parents can create an account by visiting our district’s SchoolCash Online page: https://kannapoliscityschools.schoolcashonline.com, and attaching your child(ren) to your profile.
Next, in the coming weeks, we hope to finalize our 2024-25 KCS Student Calendar. Please be on the lookout for this next month.
Finally, please remember that students are not in school on Tuesday, November 6th (teacher work day), Friday, November 10th (Veterans Day) and November 22nd-24th (Thanksgiving).
KCS community, all of you are a part of what we do to help each of our students become successful. Please stay informed, stay involved and let us know what we can do to help support you.
Sincerely,Kevin Garay
Superintendent
