A.L. Brown High School's Theatre Department has earned multiple awards from the NC Theatre Conference (NCTC). A.L. Brown's Theatre Program, led by Stephen Sharp, attended the 2018 NCTC High School Play Festival and brought home the following honors:

Theatre Arts Award - Excellence in Specialty Prop for the Giant Book, She Wrote, Died, Then Wrote Some More

Excellence in Acting - Brianna Frye, She Wrote, Died, Then Wrote Some More

Excellence in Acting - Markus Byrd, Scooter Thomas Makes It To The Top of the World

Rating: Superior - Scooter Thomas Makes It To The Top of the World

 

The NCTC High School Play Festival is the largest high school theatre event in the Southeast, and it has been named one of the “Top High School Theatre Festivals” by Stage Directions Magazine. This year, 3,000 students from 89 schools performed 118 plays.

The NCTC High School Play Festival is made possible with support from: the North Carolina Arts Council, a division of the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources; The Beattie Foundation; Lincoln Financial Group; the Moore County Unrestricted Endowment Fund; Barbizon Lighting Company; and the National Endowment for the Arts.
