A.L. Brown senior, Arshad Baruti, has been awarded a full 4-year scholarship to Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. The scholarship is worth more than $300,000.

Baruti participated in Questbridge, which is a non-profit program that links deserving, high-achieving students with educational opportunities at leading U.S. universities. Through the Questbridge Program, students are considered for premiere academic scholarships based on criteria that include outstanding academic achievement, strong personal character, and involvement in extra-curricular activities and community service projects.

This is the second year in a row that an A.L. Brown High School student has earned a full academic scholarship through Questbridge. Last year, Marco Gonzalez was chosen from among more than 33,000 applicants to receive the prestigious Rubenstein Scholarship to Duke University.
