Smiles, hugs, and tears flowed at Forest Park when Army Specialist Larrius Cleveland came back from Germany to surprise his son, L.J. at school. It was a joyous reunion for a little boy who hadn’t seen his daddy in months. Larrius Junior (L.J.) is a first grader in Mrs. Leigh Yelton’s room. She helped keep the secret so L.J. would be surprised when he saw his daddy outside the cafeteria as he went to lunch. It was the first time L.J. had seen his dad since the summer.

Specialist Larrius Cleveland is based in Germany, and this is the first time he has been home for Christmas in two years.  L.J.’s mom and great grandmother were on hand for the reunion. The family was able to eat lunch together in the cafeteria.

Besides seeing his son, Specialist Cleveland was presented with thank you letters that had been written to him by L.J. and his classmates. It was a wonderful day, and we are extremely proud of everyone at Forest Park for making it such a special occasion. We also thank Specialist Cleveland for his service and wish him a wonderful holiday season at home with his family.
