The Kannapolis Board of Education was proud to honor outstanding representatives from Jackson Park Elementary School at its September meeting.

We are very grateful to the
Mary Beth Ballantine Burgess State Farm Insurance Agency for donating $100 to the Jackson Park library in appreciation of the honorees.

Elle Turner is a very focused 4th grade student at Jackson Park Elementary. She is hard working, kind, and helpful. Elle loves school, and her favorite parts of the school day are music class and science. She loves to play the piano, and she likes to do experiments. She said Jackson Park is a great school because it is “full of good kids”. Elle works well with others and is a good friend. She enjoys playing soccer, and when she grows up, Elle wants to be a wedding dress designer. She has already designed twenty dresses.

Jimmy Xiong is a smart and gentle fourth grade student at Jackson Park. He loves to learn about math and help his friends work through different ways to solve the problems. Jimmy is a wonderful peer helper who can assist his classmates when they get stuck on a task. He thinks Jackson Park is a great school because “you get to be yourself.” Jimmy loves to relax at home and watch cartoons. He hopes to become a cartoonist when he grows up.

Amanda Krout is a parent volunteer and PTO board member at Jackson Park. She works with the PTO to put on fundraisers, organize family events, and volunteer at programs that work with students at Jackson Park. Amanda is always full of energy and has a smile on her face. She is a great supporter of Jackson Park and is always willing to help do what she can for teachers and students. Amanda is a native of Kannapolis and a graduate of A.L. Brown High School.

Sonya White
is a Kindergarten Teacher Assistant at Jackson Park Elementary. She is always willing to go the extra mile for her teachers and students. Sonya is often seen working individually with students and teaching small groups to allow the students to grow academically. She is well liked throughout the school due to her positive attitude and her willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job done. Misty Goodman, one of the teachers that works with Sonya, says that she “loves, loves, loves Sonya and that she always goes above and beyond”. Sonya is a native of Kannapolis and a graduate of A.L. Brown.

Rhonda Goodman is a well-respected fourth grade teacher at Jackson Park. She is one of the most dedicated, organized, and well-planned teachers. Her peers love and respect Rhonda, and they overwhelmingly nominated her for this recognition. She is consistently one of the most requested teachers at Jackson Park. Dr. Anderson is one of Rhonda Goodman’s biggest fans and knows that she can always go to her for an honest opinion or suggestion. Mrs. Goodman’s colleagues say they love working with her because she is always on top of everything and her classroom is a well-oiled machine. They all agree Mrs. Goodman is a wonderful asset to everyone at Jackson Park.
