The A.L. Brown Marching Wonders are champions of their division. During recent band competitions, the A.L. Brown Band and Color Guard earned a dozen first and second place awards and were named Grand Champions in their division.

 

The regional competitions took place Saturday, October 1st. The first contest was held at Mount Pleasant High School in Cabarrus County. The second competition took place at Forestview High School in Gaston County.


In the Mount Pleasant competition, A.L. Brown won 1st place Drum Major, 1st place Guard, 1st place General Effect, and 2nd place percussion. Later in the day at Forestview High School, the A.L. Brown band continued its winning ways. The Marching Wonders received awards for 1st place Drum Major, 2nd place Percussion, 1st place General Effect, 2nd place Music, 1st place Marching and Maneuvering, and 1st place in the AA category. They also earned a Superior Rating, and the Color Guard received the highest score of the day. In addition, the band was named best in its division. In the A-AA Division, the Marching Wonders took home their first ever Grand Champion trophy since Gordon Snyder became A.L. Brown's band director. Snyder was recently named the National Music Educator of the Year.
