A grant from KPMG has given Kannapolis City Schools more than 1,000 new books. The books will go in libraries at Fred L. Wilson Elementary, A.L. Brown High School, and Kannapolis Middle School. Representatives from KPMG delivered 250 of the books to Fred L. Wilson Elementary School on December 17th. They also provided healthy snacks for students and read some of the new books with the children. “This was a great experience for our students,” said Mandi Campbell, Fred L. Wilson principal. “The children loved seeing the books and reading with the employees. Our teachers and students are so excited about the new books, and we thank everyone at KPMG.”

Kannapolis City Schools Behavioral Health Coordinator, Angela Ward, wrote the grant and helped deliver the books. She said KPMG is helping the school system in several ways. “The grant not only is providing books for our libraries but also is giving new books for homeless students that they will be able to keep as their own. In addition, KPMG helped the A.L. Brown Food Pantry by making a donation of canned goods. We are extremely grateful to KPMG for all they have done for our students, families, and schools.”

The KPMG grant is also providing bookcases for the schools. The grant is through KPMG’s Family for Literacy program.
