Students from Kannapolis Intermediate School took second and third place honors at the annual Cabarrus County Fire Life Safety Bowl Competition. The Fire Life Safety Bowl helps students learn safety skills and tests their knowledge of first aid, fire prevention, and other life saving facts.

The Fire Life Safety Bowl is open to all fourth and fifth grade students in Cabarrus County and Kannapolis. Each team consists of four students, and they answer multiple choice or fill-in-the- blank questions. The winning teams earn cash prizes for their schools. The second and third place teams from KIS earned $375 and $250 respectively. The money will be spent to buy resources and equipment for Kannapolis Intermediate School.

Both teams from Kannapolis Intermediate School will now compete in the North Carolina State Fire Life Safety Bowl on April 21st in Raleigh.
