KCS students earn top NC writing honors

Ten students from Kannapolis City Schools have earned top honors in the North Carolina Young Authors competition. The Young Authors Project is sponsored by the North Carolina Reading Association and includes students from all over North Carolina. The theme for this year’s competition was “Dare to Dream.” Students from all grade levels may take part in the Young Authors competition and submit entries that are fiction, non-fiction, poetry, or prose. All entries are judged at the school and county levels with winning entries from each county sent to the state. Kannapolis City Schools had ten students who won honors at the state level:

All the students were honored at a special ceremony in Raleigh on March 14 at the Raleigh Convention Center.
