A.L. Brown High School seniors, Lillie Richardson and Alyssa Pittman, have won statewide recognition from the North Carolina General Federation of Women’s Clubs.

 

Lillie Richardson has been named the North Carolina Juniorette of the Year. She received the honor at the North Carolina General Federation of Women’s Club’s state convention in Cary. Alyssa Pittman was recognized for her outstanding service as the outgoing State Juniorette President. The Juniorettes club is a service organization that is affiliated with the General Federation of Women's Clubs. 
 

In addition to the individual honors, the A.L. Brown Juniorettes club earned multiple state awards. They were recognized for Outstanding Community Service Work in the Arts, Conservation, Education, Home Life, International Outreach, Public Issues, Domestic Violence Awareness, and Advocates for Children. They also earned the Travel Award and recognition in the Honor Club as well as being honored for their work with the Sponsoring Club.

 

The advisor for the A.L. Brown Juniorettes, Jennifer Smith, holds multiple leadership positions with the North Carolina General Federation of Women’s Clubs. She was awarded the Junior Membership Chairman of the Year and the Outstanding Junior Clubwoman of the Year.

 

Kannapolis City Schools’ art teacher, Georgann Athanaelos Sapp, serves as the 2nd Vice President of the North Carolina General Federation of Women’s Clubs and is the A.L. Brown Juniorettes Club Advisor.
