 SEVERE WEATHER POLICY

The superintendent decides when students need to be dismissed from classes because of extreme heat, snow or ice, storms, water shortages, or other unusual circumstances. In cases where classes are cancelled or delayed or school is dismissed early, KCS will send an automated phone message to parents. KCS also will post information on its website and social media sites (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram). In case of snow or other severe weather overnight, area radio and TV stations will be notified of school closings by 6:00 a.m. Whenever inclement weather impacts the school schedule, the most reliable source of information is always the KCS website and KCS social media outlets.
