Woodrow Wilson Elementary School welcomed Kannapolis Mayor, Darrell Hinnant, on Wednesday, November 17th. The mayor came to speak with students, visit classrooms, and tour the school.

As part of his visit, Mayor Hinnant spoke to 2nd graders about the role of the Mayor, the work of city government, and the value of public service to the community. He also met with a small group of cub reporters (2nd graders at Woodrow Wilson) who interviewed Mayor Hinnant about local government, leadership, and his outlook for the future of Kannapolis. Their interview with the Mayor was videotaped and shared with all students at Woodrow Wilson.

Mayor Hinnant’s trip to Woodrow Wilson was just one of several stops he made in Kannapolis City Schools. The mayor also visited students at Forest Park Elementary and Jackson Park Elementary during the week of November 14th. We’re delighted to have Mayor Hinnant come to our schools, and we thank him for his work in the community.
